I'm Already Gone.

I smiled as I saw him come through the door. I know what you're going to say. Teenagers in love? It just doesn't happen right? Well, for some they find their star fast. Especially, when their life is on fast forward. They try to get through a certain number of years quickly, wanting their freedom. So, because so much is going by so quickly, so is everything else. I found my love early in life and I wasn't going to let him go.

"You're here!" I squealed and ran to the door and into his arms. The smile on his face covered whatever pain had been there previously. He smiled for me but the hurt was still reflecting in his eyes.

He lifted me in the hug and spun me around for a moment. Eventually he set me back on my feet and I grinned happily when my feet touched the ground. He just stood there, holding me. I sighed contentidly. I was back in his arms.

His voice was soft and wavered slightly. "Yeah. I'm here. But not for long."

Confusion colored my tone as my eyebrows furrowed. I didn't know what was going on. "Wha.."

He shook his head, silencing me. "I'm staying for a while but never as long as I'd like." He smiled and I saw a hint of my old Shane.

My blue eyes warmed and I brushed my hand over his cheek. His own light green eyes closed with my touch and I smiled. "There you are."

He opened his eyes again, a glow of determination in them. I couldn't really understand it, but I knew I would find out later.

He took my hand and pulled me into the far end of the house that my room was in. He closed the door, leaning against it when it was firmly shut and I heard the click of the lock as I made my way over to my queen sized bed.

The blankets were a dark green which finished the earthy look of my room. This was my sanctuary, my own little cave where I could escape.

Shane came over, set down his jacket that he took off, leaned down to kiss me sweetly. I wrapped my arms around his neck, eyes closing, as I kissed him back. He settled his hands on my waist, lifting up slightly to shift us backward; further on the bed.

My head hit the pillows and I ended up pulling him on top of me. His kiss became desperate and an ache of worry settled deep in my stomach. I pulled back slightly so I could talk.

"Shane? What are you hiding from me?"

He looked at me, a tortured expression on his face. "I gotta go back. Dad's making me go back to Nevada with him. Today's my last day here."

I froze. Why didn't he tell me before? Why did he have to go? He was...leaving..me? Simply at those words, inside I died. This just wasnt real. It couldnt be. It couldnt!

Remember all the things we wanted.
Now all our memories, they're haunted.
We were always meant to say goodbye.

"I'm sorry, Kate. I tried to fight it. I told him I didn't want to go. But I have no choice in the matter. I tried. I really did."

Even with our fists held high.
It never would've worked out right.
We were never meant for 'do or die'.

"You're leaving?" I was in shock; in denial.

He looked down. "Yeah."

God!? Could you break my heart any more than it is?! Why are you doing this to me?!

He wrapped his arms around me tightly, holding me to him. "I don't want to go Kate. I really don't. I can't do anything. But I also came here to tell you that long distance wont work again. Last time it didn't work, and this time, it definatly wont. I'm sorry Kate, but we got to end."

I didn't even feel the tears leaking from my eyes. I didn't feel my heart break. It wasn't there at all. And I was completely numb.

I didn't want us to burn out.
I didn't come here to hold you, now I can't stop.

My old sheild, wall, and mask slammed up then. I had let them fall when I knew he would protect me, but now I was on my own again. And in order to protect me from getting hurt, the bariers had to come back up again.

"Well. I suppose it's for the best." I wasn't crying anymore. A little flicker of anger boiled my blood. I hated rejection. But the majority of the anger wasn't there. It was being sucked out by the blackhole where my heart had been.

"How long do you have?" I looked at him, my face blank. He looked like what I said was the greatest torture of all.

"I've got to leave now. The car is outside waiting." His voice was hoarse, like he was trying not to cry. My own tears had dried.

I kissed his cheek for the last time and edged him up. "Then don't keep him waiting."

He nodded and got off of me, but he kept me in his arms the entire time I walked him to the front door. "I'll text you; call you everyday. I'll be online. We'll still keep in touch. I promise."

I looked down. I would break that promise for him. If I just disapeared then there would be nothing more for him to lose. It was better.

He hugged me tightly, looked at me once more, and then left. I closed the door to the house at the same time I closed the door to my heart, my soul, and my life.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out. There was a new text from Shane. I opened it. "I love you." I didn't reply. I wouldnt reply. I was gone, just like he was.

I want you to know, that it doesn't matter;
Where we take this road, someone's gotta go.
And I want you to know you couldn't have loved me better.
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone.

When I didn't reply to the text, he called. His picture ID popping up with the smile that I loved, and it stung at my new wounds. I didn't pick up and just let it go to voice mail. I would listen to it when I needed to hear his voice.

Looking at you makes this harder.
But I know you'll find another.
That doesn't always want to make you cry.

The old memories started flooding back. The memories of us. The first day he kissed me in the door way. The day I was standing in the kitchen and he appeared out of knowhere and hugged me from behind, whispering sweet words in my ear.

Hot tears flowed down my cheeks again as I made my way back to my room, now my prison.

The laughs we shared rang in my ears. The smile on his faced flashed in my mind's eye. The feel of his hug was vivid, as was his warmth. He left his jacket on my bed, his smell still on it.

Started with a perfect kiss. Then we could feel the poison set in.
Perfect couldn't keep this love alive.
You know that I love you so, I love you enough to let you go.

I want you to know that it doesn't matter;
Where we take this road, someone's gotta go.
And I want you to know you couldn't have loved me better.
But I want you to move on, so I'm already gone.

I'm already gone, already gone.
You can't make it feel right when you know that it's wrong.
I'm already gone, already gone.
There's no moving on, so I'm already gone.

My phone rang again, Shane again. I fought with myself not to pick it up. I desperatly wanted to answer, to hold onto him. Never let him go. But that wasn't the way it was. Life already chose what was going to happen. Life has a sick sense of humor and somehow enjoys taking everything that I love away.

Already gone, already gone, already gone.
Already gone, already gone, already gone, yeah.

My phone dinged, letting me know that I had yet another voice mail. I couln't listen to it just yet. If I did, I would end up calling him back.

I locked the door to my room and collapsed on my bed, shaking with sobs and gasping for breath.

The memories kept playing themselves through my mind, and the reminder that we would never have anymore memories together tore me apart. Causing even more tears to flow steadily from my eyes.

Remember all the things we wanted.
Now all our memories, they're haunted.
We were always meant to say goodbye.

Fate was so utterly cruel. Was life determined to kill me? Was death wanting to take me so soon? All I know, is that I couldn't do anything. And I couldn't die either. It just wasn't right. And maybe when the time was right, I could talk to him again. I needed that hope to hold onto.

I want you to know, it doesn't even matter;
Where we take this road, someone's gotta go.
I want you to know that you couldn't have loved me better.
But I want you to move on, so I'm already gone.

I'm already gone, already gone.
You can't make it feel right when you know that it's wrong.
I'm already gone, already gone.
There's no moving on, so I'm already gone.

I curled up in a ball on my bed, pulling his jacket up and hugging it. His scent flooded my nose and made me ache as much as it caused me to relax. It had always made me calm down, peaceful, happy. But I wasn't happy this time.

His scent and the tears lulled me to sleep. And I let the darkness take me in.

This was the end between us. I hoped he would find someone else. Someone who was better than me, to erase me. To ease whatever pain he had. I needed him to move on. But while he moved on, I wouldn't. I wouldn't love again. I didn't want the hurt of the end. So this is my end. I would live my life without love. My end of love. And I'm already gone.

A/N: Just so everyone knows, this story doesnt have anything to do with anything in particular. It's just a story that's been playing with my fears for a while now. Also, this song (in red) is called "Already Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. Hope you enjoyed it.

He's Comming For You

The kids were chanting, surrounded by a ring of lit candles. A wiji board was laying off to the side. A porclain doll was in the center of the young girls, no older than fifteen. There were five of them. Each had two fingers layed under the doll.

The chanting was a quiet murmmer, adding to the haunted feeling that flowed in the air.

"Light as a feather. Stiff as a board. Light as a feather. Stiff as a board. Light as a feather. Stiff as a board. Light as a feather. Stiff as a board. Light as a feather. Stiff as a b--"

The chant broke off as gasps ran around the circle. The doll had moved it's arm and the closed eyes that had been on the doll in a lying position, flew open. The girls screamed and scattered, knocking over the flames as the went.

One girl was frozen in shock, her hands still held under the doll. She couldnt make her muscles move. The dolls piercing gaze held the her motionless. A slight song echoed through the now empty room as the furniture started to catch on fire.

The song was one that you would hear kids singing in the play ground, only different. Normally you would hear the song about picking up sticks, tying your shoes, laying the sticks straight, and something about a big fat hen. But this song was full of death.

To the girl who sat still frozen in terror, the song came from nowhere.

" One, Two. He's comming for you. Three, Four. Lock your door. Five, Six. Get a crusifix. Seven. Eight. Stay awake. Nine. Ten. Never sleep again..."

It took a minute for the small girl to realize that the doll's mouth was moving and the eyes on the now morbid and bloody face were rolling in the sockets.

There was a sharp rapping on the back door's glass. The girl screamed and ran out the front. The line still running it's course through her head. The song blared in her ears as if the doll were singing it again. The erie part of the song was that it wasnt just one voice comming from the doll, but many. Echoing as if you were listening to a distant memory.

The song repeated non-stop in the little girls head. 'One, Two. He's comming for you. Three, Four. Lock your door. Five, Six. Get a crusifix. Seven. Eight. Stay awake. Nine. Ten. Never sleep again. One, Two. He's comming for you. Three, Four. Lock your door. Five, Six. Get a crusifix. Seven. Eight. Stay awake. Nine. Ten. Never sleep again. One, Two. He's comming for you. Three, Four. Lock your door. Five, Six. Get a crusifix. Seven. Eight. Stay awake. Nine. Ten. Never sleep again...'

The girl shuddered as she looked back at the house that was now engulfed in flames. A shadow was crossing the lawn, following the panicked child.

She made to the short cut that lead to her house. Only problem was, the short cut was a series of earthen stairs through a revine. This way, through the dark trees, would only take her ten minutes to get home. It would be quicker, and give the persuer less of a chance. But the persuer could trap her in the trees. She could take the long way but it would take another twenty minutes to go around the small wood.

With panick stricken eyes, she glanced over her shoulder. The shadow was advancing on her, something glittered in his hand and the song ran sharp and sudden through the air. "One, Two. He's comming for you. Three, Four. Lock your door. Five, Six. Get a crusifix. Seven. Eight. Stay awake. Nine. Ten. Never sleep again..."

She would have to take the short cut. The girl ran through the opening and took each step, two at a time down.

One step, two steps, three steps, four steps-- A branch snapped somewhere in the trees. Her breathing caught in her chest, but she pushed on. Five steps, six steps, seven steps, eight steps, nine steps-- A bush rustled and the swoosh of clothing penetrated the air.

She glanced back over her shoulder. The shadow was decending the steps. The girl picked up her pace as she realized the glittering silver object in the shadow's hand was covered in blood.

Ten steps, eleven steps, twelve steps, thirteen-- Finally, she reached the flat part. The bottom of the revine where a slight bridge ran over a gushing stream. This part of the path was wooden and her footsteps hit heavily on the planks.

She sprinted accross the water, hoping that the shadow was a vampire. Vampires couldnt cross running water.

She made it to the steps that were much steeper, but led up and out of the revine. She began to clamber up them.

One step, two steps, three steps-- there was only silence behind her. Had the persuer given up? She was almost home. Four steps, five steps, six steps-- she risked a glance over her shoulder. Nothing was there. Her breathin eased up. Seven steps, eight steps, nine steps, ten steps, eleven steps-- still no sound of the follower. Twelve steps-- She could see the faint light of the moon ahead. Thirteen steps-- Finally she was out of the forest.

The girl's heart stuttered in fear as she saw headlights blare. She dashed across the street. She could see her door. Her hair swung over her shoulder as she turned her head to check yet again if the shadow was behind her. There was no sign.

She dashed up the steps and nearly hit her door as she tried to get to the door handle. The door swung open once it was unlocked and she flew in. She fumbled with the lock making sure the deadbolt was tightly in place. She sank onto the floor, her back against the secured door, and stared into the black living room. The moon was only barely getting in through the window. There was only enough light to see a shadow move and the light reflect off of a silver object that was covered in blood.

The girl screamed.

No More Goodbyes

Kilee smiled up at him, her face alight with humor. Her cheeks glowed, as did her eyes. She was finally, truly happy. She had the most amazing friend who could make her laugh any moment on any day, no matter how she had previously felt.

She laughed aloud as Tristen made the face again. Tristen's face was screwed up in a mockery of a part of the movie they had just seen.

Kilee giggled uncontrolably and she gasped for breath to speak. "You look like you're constepated!" She choked off at the end, unable to keep from laughing.

"Well that's what he looked like in the movie." He smiled back. As always, they were the people who never stopped laughing. Everyone must have thought they were on drugs a hundred times over by now.

Kilee gulped some air, just enough to help stifle the laughter. But the tremers still rocked her body.

Tristen's face fell. He had come to the part in the day he wished he'd never have to reach. His voice was solumn as he spoke. "Kilee...? I got drafted in."

He waited in silence, not meeting her eyes. He noticed that she was no longer shaking with laughter. He tried his hardest not to look. He didnt think he could bear it. He did anyways.

His green gaze met her startled blue and he saw a tear slide down her face. She caught it and wiped it away before it hit her jawline.

Kilee's voice was quiet. "You dont have to g..."

He broke in. "Yes. I have no choice in this. The army needs all the help they can get. They're drafting a lot of men in."

She began to shake her head. The 'denial' stage had set in. Her lips moved soundlessly as she tried to peice everything together. The world shook around her and the sun above burned suddenly white hot.

He was her best friend. She couldnt lose another person. She knew she was falling apart at the seams, but she had to keep it together. She couldnt break in front of Tristen. She didnt cry and finally, after what seemed forever to Tristen, she stopped shaking her head.

"When are you leaving?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"Tomarrow."

"So soon?!" The startlement returned.

He nodded and walked beside the stricken girl back to the car.

****Next day****

Kilee was happy as she bounced around his house. She was helping Tristen pack his things. She sang out loud to songs that played quietly on the radio, not bothering to lower her voice. She wasn't taking any time she had with him for granted. She wasnt going to show any weakness either.

"I do get a hug right?" She trilled over the music.

"Of course." His expression was slightly shocked. "You're my best friend. Of course you get a hug."

"Yay!" She cheered and bounced off to grab him some socks out of the dryer.

**Later that evening**

"Okay. I'm all set." Tristen smiled lightly down at Kilee who was still smiling brightly, although something shadowed slightly in her blue orbs.

"You'll chat when you can?"

"Absolutly." His smile softened, waiting for the tears.

There were no tears. Instead, Kilee opened her arms for the hug she had been promised. Tristen held her tight against his chest. He was sad to leave.

Kilee sighed. "Okay. Well I'd better head home. Goodluck later. Hope you enjoy the trip." Her grin widened as she mocked his twenty hour trip to the bootcamp he was being sent to train at. That she did not envy him for, even for a moment.

"Talk to you later, Tristen." She called happily over her shoulder as she bounced down the steps, counting each one until she hit the pavement.

When she was at the end of his driveway, she turned and waved back at him happily. "GOODBYE!" She nearly shouted. Then, still smiling, walked down to the end of the street.

When she was around the corner, she let her smile fade and she closed her eyes as she took in a steadying breath.

Her whisper was filled with the greif she had hid. "There are no more goodbyes." Then she broke into a light jog and never looked back.

Deam Come True

The dark night pressed in around the girl as she ran. Her bare feet making only a little sound as she ran on the cobble stone street. Her lungs were burning. Something was behind her. A voice whispered on the wind.

"Run Resa, Run!" The voice made her jump and she stumbled. Resa's hands flung out before her to break her fall but the street disapeared. Instead she plunged head first into a pool of luke warm water.

She struck out with her feet and hands, propelling herself through the water with ease. Resa floated lazily up to the top. When her head broke through the surface she breathed in the cool, crisp air.

"Ugh. I dont want to swim." She doggy pattled to the edge and lifted herself out. Just as she sat comfortably on the edge, she jumped. Someone was in the pool with her.

He was dark haired, reaching down to his jawline. His dark brown eyes were warm and filled with love. Resa melted on the spot.

His voice rang out. It had a slight accent to it. "Where are you going Resa? You just jumped in. I thought we were going to play." A mischevious grin spread across his face, revealing dazzling teeth.

"I..was...." She forgot her motive for leaving. "Okay."

She drew in a breath and looked down, measuring the depth of the water with her eyes. Before she slid in, he was there, pulling her towards him. He sat on the edge like her and just hugged her.

Resa sighed happily at his warmth. She felt truly loved. He was her love.

"Hold your breath." He whispered and slid off the edge of the pool with her still in his arms. She let out a squeek and held her breath, ready to plunge back into the water. She closed her eyes, waiting.

Instead of cutting through the water, she still was flying through the air. She opened her eyes in time to see his face smirk down at her. He let her slip through his grasp.

She screamed. "Taylor!"

He laughed as she hit the pillows of a soft bed. "Your perfectly okay." He crawled on the bed and leaned over her head, pressing his soft lips to hers. She pulled him closer as he deepened the kiss.

She was gasping for air when he pulled away, trailing his lips down her jaw to the hollow of her throat. He found her weakness and her breathing stopped...

Resa flew forward in her bed, her breath comming in and leaving in fast short breaths. Her heart was racing and her voice echoed through the empty room. "Where the hell did that come from?"

She pulled herself out of bed and stumbled around her room, changing. She didnt care about the time as she stepped outside, thinking.

Resa had never even seen that man in her life. How did she know his name? Who was he? And why did she feel so strongly still? Was it just the dream lingering?

The sun was just breaking over the horizon which meant it was extremely early. The sun had been rising around four each morining this week as summer drew closer.

She wasnt paying attention when she ran into someone on the street. The man caught her before she hit the ground.

His soft, caring brown eyes bore into hers. "Are you okay?"

"Taylor?" The name slipped from her lips before she even knew what she was thinking. His smile flashed at her. It was him.

Dont Drive Faster Than Your Angels Fly

Trish pressed the pettal down a little further. This straight of the road continued on a couple hundred miles. At this point, she could rightfully say that she was in the middle of nowhere.

The spedomiter inched towards seventy and continued to climb. The world around her flew by. The little black car kept gaining speed. But the quiet purr of the engine could no longer soothe Trish's frayed nerves. The dark night ahead of her was closing in for a long time and there was no more sun to fuel the little energy she had left.

Trish punched her thumb on the dial on the dashboard to turn on the radio. The soft music filled the car so she turned it up to an almost deafening volume. The current song ended and a new one flooded the air.

She had one eye on my suitcase,
One eye on the door.
She said "Dont mind me if I cry
It's just what tears are for."

You're eighteen and so ready.
Just like I once was.
Believe me girl, lettin' go
Is the hardest thing 'bout love.

Trish listened to the song that was bringing back the ache in her heart. She was eighteen and had left her parents just that morning. Speeding away the moment she turned of age. When Trish stood at the door saying that she was never comming back, her mother had eyed the suitcase that Trish carried and then looked at the door that was thrown open wide. How ironic the lyrics seemed.

It wasnt long until Trish had escaped her family and her mother's noisy begging and tears. Trish was gone when she was in seventh grade. Her family already lost her. There was no way to get her back. And now she was leaving in person, for real. Nothing could be said. It is Trish's freedom that lies before her.

Trish had then followed the road wherever it might have taken her. She wound up here on this long stretch in the middle of nowhere and didnt have the heart to check the gps on her dashboard.

The song continued onto the chorus now.

Dont drive faster than your angel can fly.
Dont cry tears to deep to dry.
Dont follow a dream unless you open your eyes.
Or fall for the first soft shoulder you find.
Dont be wreckless with your love or time.

Dont drive faster than your angel can fly.

The spedomiter continued to climb past 90 now. Trish didnt slow down yet. Not until a flash of silver shot past her. Going in the same direction she was. Trish stared foreward but no one or nothing was there at all. She shrugged it off and listened again to the lyrics that were quickly becoming detrimental to her sanity.

She must have run this road before.
For her to be that smart.
Shemush have felt what I feel.

She knew the way by heart.

Her life will be my stepping stone.
Her words will be my guiding light.
Her love will sheild the loneliness
And darkness from my life.

Trish fisted the button to turn off the music. She was tired of the warnings. She was tired of hearing what she should have done differently. She was tired of hearing the possibilities.

The car sped past the silvery thing again although this time it was trying to keep up. It didnt have a full shape.

A deer ran out into the road and Trish slammed onto the break. But the car wasnt stopping quick enough. To be accurate, the car wasnt stopping but spinning out of control. Trish had forgotten that her car didnt have anti-lock breaks.

"SHIT!"

The silvery thing appeared in the passengers side. A whispering voice sounded from that area. "Im sorry. I cant save you this time. I tried to protect you from death, but you went too fast."

Never the less, the angel wrapped its arms and wings around the girl clutching the stearing wheel as the car flipped over and rolled into the soft earth of the shoulder.

Everything went black except for the whispering voice of the angel. "Give me one last chance to save her. I know she can slow down in life. Her clock wasnt supposed to stop now." The voice was begging. "One last change and then if she still doesnt slow down, she's yours. Im supposed to protect her."

Nothing ansered the whispering silvery shadow. However, Trish's world did go black.

Deadly Stairwell

"The house isn't exactly new.." The realistate agent trailed off. But Kisha just smiled.

"It's perfect." She whispered looking up the steep stairway leading towards the spacious master bedroom.

The house wasnt small but it wasnt big either. The downstairs was open, each room leading into the next by a simple archway. All the floors were a dark brown wood. And the kitchen was the most beautiful that Kisha had ever stepped foot in.

The woman didn't even need to step foot upstairs before she was practically begging the saleswoman for a good deal on the house.

After months of searching for a house or even the simplest of apartments, Kisha finally found a place that suited her perfectly and her single self.

**skipping a month**

Kisha jolted forward in bed. Once again she woke herself up by screaming.

"Shhh." A deep voice soothed from beside her pillow. Jason had slept over for the third night since Kisha had moved in. He still wasnt quite used to the horrifiying occurences in the night at her new home. To him, the house practically screamed "GET THE HELL OUT OF THAT PLACE!" But he stayed for his girlfriends sake.

He gently rubbed her back but when he touched her, she jumped violently. The result was falling out of the bed.

Kisha's cheek was pressed against the cool wood floor and she groaned as she tried to lift herself up. She used the edge of the bed as a support and when she looked over the rim and into Jason's face, she screamed again.

Jason's eyes were glowing red. But he blinked and flicked on the bed side light. Jason rolled over to look into Kisha's terrified green eyes.

"Kisha? Are you okay?" His voice was quiet and concerned.

She shook her head and took in a shaky breath. "Were you facing away from me this entire time?"

Jason nodded and spoke a little louder, the silence becoming earie. "Once you fell out of bed, I rolled over to turn on the light. I would have turned it on sooner if you hadn't screamed and made me knock over the water bottle." He grinned slowly.

Kisha's eyes held confusion. "I didnt hear the water bottle fall."

"I caught it before it hit. Would you like to tell me why you screamed while my back was turned?"

The green eyes were fearful again as she crawled into bed and huddled in a tight ball against his chest. Her words were muffled but still audible. "I thought they were your eyes."

"My eyes?"

"There were glowing red eyes from somewhere in your direction....just staring at me."

There was a loud thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-THUD from somewhere down the hall. It sounded like someone fell down the stairs.

Kisha whimpered and burried her face deeper into Jason's chest. Jason cluched her closer.

There was silence while they waited in the bed, holding eachother in fear, waiting for another sound. When there was none, Jason whispered. "Let's go see what that was, get some water and go back to sleep." The girl nodded into her boyfriend's chest.

Slowly both of them made their way to the staircase. Jason flipped the light over the stairs on and sharply drew in a breath as Kisha screamed, full volume.

The stairwell was drenched in fresh blood and streaked up the wall. Only a couple feet from the ceiling, a corpse was nailed to the wallpapered wall. Blood was still flowing from the body whose white dress was soaked in blood.

That wasnt the worst part though. Instead of the head limp, hanging; it was held aloft. Bright red glowing eyes locked on the couple who stood frozen at the top of the stairs.

Kisha and the corpse screamed at the same time. The corpse was an impossible clone of the woman clutching her boyfriend's arm in fear. When Kisha closed her mouth, the corpse did also. When Kisha groaned, the dead body copied her. When Kisha collapsed dead on the ground in a graceless heap, the corpse went limp and moved no more.

Worlds of Wolves

"You know, Ive always wondered.....what would the world be like if something like a mass extinction happened. Most of life was whiped from the face of the planet. Water dwindling to drink holes. Volcanos covering hundreds of miles of land. Earthquakes splitting the earth, causing life to fall into the cracks. Tornatos tearing apart families, friends, tearing the spirit from the bodies. Animals vanishing. Forests, homes, people burning away. If something went wrong all at once to cause the world to start over.....what would be left?

"Would there be any survivors? Humans left to regenerate? Would there be enought to survive?" She looked quisically at the people seated in front of her. They all looked like they were in deep thought. Kara looked at the first woman who stood up. The woman's voice was hoarse and scratchy.

"God wouldnt let that happen. He would take us all to heaven before He destroyed the earth." Her tone was difiant.

"Yes. For those who believe that, yes He would save you. But think about...lets say the Flood. For all you who believe in this particular religion. Why did God restart life? Restart the world?" Kara looked at the croud again. Narowing her eyes on a young lad who rose from his chair. He couldnt have looked more than seven or eight years old.

The child's parents were looking at him, shocked that he dared stand up. "My church says that God took two of every animal and all the good people into safty while the rest were flooded with rain. But that always made me wonder.." He looked nervously at his parents before drawing in a shaky breath and continuing. "God says he loves us all. So yeah, even if we do something bad he already punishes us. We get sick. Some people dont have food. The people we love die." His tone got harsher on the last statement as he glared at his parents.

Kara listened to the kid, thinking that he was speaking more maturely than some of the adults even. He was an old soul, even from here, while he stood in the back of the auditorium, she could see old eyes in a young face.

He coughed a little before going on. "In a way God already punishes us for those bad things that we do. Just like if I get in trouble I get sent to my room or I get a toy taken away. Something dear to me gets taken for a while. But He loves us. Why would he kill us? At church they said that God was sad by all the people who were sinning. Weeelll doesnt everyone sin at one point? We all talk back. We've stolen candy from the cupboards. We kill spiders and bugs and many people are killed. Arent those all sinning?

So if those people were sinning why did God flood them and kill them? If he loves us, he would forgive us, not kill us right? So, since our world is so mean. We have war, we hate our neighbors sometimes. We yell, we get jealous of our friends' bikes and toys. If we do all that now, isn't it possible that God will kill all of us again? Not everyone could be saved I have to admit. But to me it doesnt make sense." He looked up at me innocently. "Please, Im confused. Help me understand, and my mama and daddy too." His parents were looking very angry with him.

The room was quiet as the child returned to his seat. Everyone could hear his mother whispering harshly into her son's ear. "Dont you dare stand up again young man or you'll--" Kara cut the mother off.

"What's your name." She said looking directly at him while he ignored his mother's threats.

"Joel." He said in a soft voice.

"Joel. Would you like to join me up here? I could really use your help." She said sweetly as his mother shot daggers at Kara with her eyes.

"He will most certainly not go--" Joel cut her off this time.

"Yeah. I'd love to." He bounced out of his seat and walked up the long isle until he got to the stange stairs. As he bounced up each step his smile slipped a little.

"It's okay. Dont be nervous. I have a question Joel. Do you think you can answer." Kara knelt at his eye level. They boy's blond curls bounced as he nodded his head enthusiastically.

"Okay. If almost everything was to be killed and whiped out, what little creatures do you think would survive? Think small."

Joel thought for a couple minutes, a frown on his face. "...small...?" His forhead creased in concentration. "Maybe a mouse. 'Cause you said that everything on the face of the earth....some mice live under the ground, right?"

"Right." Her eyes brightened at the little boys perceptiveness and understanding. "The mice could live through it. They did when the dinosaurs disapeared along with all the big animals, huh?" He nodded his head again.

"Can you think what other animals would maybe survive, if they dug holes in the ground to live in? Not caves, but something like tunnels." Kara stood up now, looking kindly down at Joel as he thought again.

"I dont know a lot of animals..." he admitted. "But moles I think live in tunnels."

"Yeah they do." She beamed down at him, her respect growing. "Did you know that polar bears dig holes to hibernate in?" He shook his head no. "Yeah, instead of caves, they're tunnels that they climb into. The wolves do to."

His face lit up when Kara said wolves, she knew he like them. She asked another, simpler question. "What's your favorite animal, Joel?"

He grinned up at Kara. "Wolf."

She smiled. "I thought so. But yes, the wolves dig tunnels of sorts for their dens. Atleast the arctic wolves do. Here.." She indicated to a second chair that had appeared on stage while everyone was watching Joel thinking. "Why not sit here beside me while I talk to everyone at the same time for a minute."

"Okay." He chirpped as he plonked himself in the small, child sized, yellow, plastic chair.

"Arctic wolves spend time in their dens, under the surface. There isnt much destruction to fear where they are besides loss of food. But if the mice survives, especially in the arctic with those wolves, the wolves wouldnt have that much trouble finding food. They could scrounge the dead around them for a while and then resort to eating mice.

"The arctic wolves actually eat rats when the caribou or other animal is scarce in the land. They dont, like many believe, live off of the larger kill. It is actually quite rare that they will get a good kill. And wolves will not hunt unless they are at their ends hungry. They dont over indulge. But if the rats survive just like the last world wide extinction, ending the life of dinosaurs, they could survive this time. And the wolves, hidden in their dens until it is safe enought to enter into the air again, would feed on the rats until the world started populating again with other animal and plant matter.

"The wolves could also spread the world, the continent their on, they would spread out, mate, and feed off of rats that essenscially live everywhere. The wolves could survive along with other, burrowing animals." Kara took a breath to calm her energized nervs. Sometimes she put a little too much emotion into these speaches while she was trying to get her point accross.

She turned to Joel again. "Joel? Do you ever hear of the stories about the wolves that turn into man? Like werewolves?" He nodded solumnly. She guessed his parents had banned this track of thinking.

"Did you know that in certain ways, humans are very much like wolves? That when it comes to family and such, the wolves then become the closest relating things to us?" Kara quizzed him with her bright green eyes.

Joel shook his head, confusion writen on his face. Kara turned to the croud again. "Wolves are very faithful to those that they create a family with. The pups stay for years with their parents, most dont even leave their family unless if they've found a mate. Wolves are faithful to only a single mate. If the mate dies, they will not go searching for another, but lay in solitude, search for another pack to live with, or continue raising their young and staying with their offspring. It kind of sounds like humans.

"Our children stay with us as they grow and most of the time, until they are ready to move on by themselves into the larger world. We fall in love and if it is true love, we stay forever with that one love. We are faithful until the end and beyond. If the love dies, most dont remarry, instead living in the world by themselves or living close to their children or own parents. Does it not sound like the wolves? Could the world restart, better, healthier, happier if the wolves survive while everything else dies besides those very very few exceptions?" Kara looked at the croud.

Not a single person made a sound while they ran over the things in their minds. No one coughed or sneezed. No one yawned, all was silent until someone's pen dropped on the ground. Half the people jumped while the rest whipped their head around to see who had broken the silence. Then everything remained silent.

Kara gave the people a minute more to think before she started again. "I've always wondered, what it would be like....living in a empty world." She closed her eyes. "Sometimes I thought about those things that I would miss if I was alive in that empty world. But I also thought about what I would hear." She opened her eyes.

The speaker sucked in a breath. "I have a story to tell." The croud became more attentive, some leaning forward in their seats. Kara was glad that she captured the croud so well.

"One night, I was thinking about what I would hear in a nearly empty world. I had no clue at this point what might survive and what might not. I was listening to the things around me. My fishtank in the living room was bubbling, reminding me of running water. I heard the creak of the house settling like it sometimes does on it's foundation, reminding me of a tree falling. And then for a while everything was quiet." Kara lowered her voice. It was nearing a whisper as she spoke into her microphone.

"I started pondering what animals might be left. The silence becoming earie. I actually checked outside my window to check that I wasnt, like in my immagination, the only one in an empty world. But my imagination continued to wonder about the animals, which ones would die? Which ones were best suited for surviving. And then a wolf howled from in the distance." Kara stopped, letting her words sink in. "The wolf. My favorite animal." She smiled at Joel. "As I researched, I found that it was, with a small chance, the wolf could survive. But besides that....what would the world be like? That's what I leave you with today. Think about it. What do you think an empty, silent world be like? What would be left? What would be gone?"

Kara turned to Joel. "You can go back now, thank you so very much. It was nice to meat you Joel." She smiled widly at the child as he got up and took his leave.

She turned back to the croud one last time. "Thank you for your time today. Think on this, you may find it interesting." And Kara turned away.

As she left, she heard the auditorium filing out in near silence. She smiled at the reactions she had gotten. Kara loved it when she left them all thinking. All silent. It was good to know she was heard.

Dreamer's Diary

This is just a first story that takes on the name of the title of the blog. It's how I came up with the name of the blog so....yeah. Enjoy.

I've been walking the same way for many years. I never would change my direction. I was a young woman with a wild immagination that carried me far and wide.

Everyone pushed me away, sayng that I'm nothing but a hopeless dreamer. A dreamer that wouldn't get anywhere in life.

But boy, did I prove them wrong. I have my books published and I'm living my dream of a well known author.

My friend, Terra, has been beside me the whole time when everyone else just wished that she would leave.

I never had much patience for those people who wanted me to leave behind my best firend. Little did they know, the more they begged me to push her away, I was slowly and steadily pushing them away. When I finally had enough room to breathe, I burned whatever bridge that was between those people and myself, said goodbye, and went on with my life.

Now that I have the fame along with Terra remaining firmly by my side, they all come to me with "sincere" appologies. Who's the dreamer now!?

I laughed darkly as I tossed aside yet another letter claiming that one of my family members wished for my forgiveness. I sent one reply to each person saying no matter what they did, they wouldn't get a single thing from me. But they never stopped asking, so I just burned the letters in the fire after I read through their pittyless complaints.

Terra walked in at that moment, sun bouncing off her lush dark hair. "Got mail?"

"As always." I sighed, smiling as I pointed towards the letter that remained on the floor.

Not picking it up, Terra danced over, and quickly scanned the letter before bursting out laughing. "They seriously thought that, that was going to work." She shook her head, still laughing. "Pathetic." She muttered under her breath.

"Can your brother be anymore of an idiot?" She mimicked his voice. "'I just thought..could you lend me a few hundreds. You've got the money and I aint. I need a little to pay the bills. I promise next time that you need help, I'll be there..."' She trailed off, snorting. "As if he'll keep up his end of the bargain. And you dont and wont need any help, especially from him." She snickered on the last word.

Still shaking her head, she kicked the letter into the flames in the fireplace beside my desk. "Anythin' you wanting for dinner?"

I smiled up at her, leaning back in my chair at ease. "Naw..just as long as it's food. I'm starved. I'll make breakfast and dinner tomarrow. Promise."

Terra bounced off towards our kitchen, calling over her shoulder. "It's all good. No biggie."

After dinner, I was done with the day and proceeded to collapse on my bed, but someone was already there.

"Teeeeerrraaaaaaa." I whined. "Why are you in my beeeed? Im tiiiiired."

She laughed up at me. "It's 'sleep over' night. Remember? It's friday. Come on. Plus you need a couple good laughs before bed." She sat up on her knees, bouncing like a little ten year old on three different energy drinks.

"I dont have the ener--" She cut me off.

"I dont care." She trilled. "I've got loads to tell you. The stories I've been writing are so hilarious. They guys are being beaten in sparing by an elf with no training what so ever..." She continued on like that for the next two hours. Leaving me, begging for sleep at midnight.

"Pleaaase. Im tired. Let me sleep." I asked for the thousandth time.

"Fine, fine." She said, as she threw the covers over her head. But I was asleep before she was even fully situated on my full sized bed. Although I thought I remembered hearing a very quiet 'goodnight' as I drifted off but didnt have any though left to reply.

Intro

I'm just a young teenage girl with a wild immagination. Fantacies are the only things that hold me together besides my friends. So I thought...well....I have so many ideas for stories but I know I'd never continue them. So then I came up with the idea that if I made a diary out of it, it could solve my problems. People would get to see my short work and I wouldnt have so many ideas in my head. It is also a good way to clear writer's block for my other stories that I am determined to continue. So anybody is free to read these passages. And if they arent good, I appologise. Sometimes it would just be to get ideas flowing again so they might not always make sence. These stories will be seperate unless the titles say otherwise. Names may be repeated throughout different stories so make sure you dont get them confused. Luv you all. Hope you enjoy.
